Buenort Collective's latest release transports us to the cheerful city of Camagüey in Cuba. Band Rumbatá’s songs "Rumbatéate" and “Fueron Tres Golpes De Más”, are now available for the very first time ever on a 7 inch vinyl. Contemporary folkloric Cuban rumba is really rare to find on 7 inch vinyl nowadays, plus knowing that Cuban rumba does not have a long tradition in the City of Camagüey like in Havana or Matanzas, we can talk about a really unique piece for collectionists, bailadores and Djs.
Two high octane Cuban rumbas in the style of
Guaguancó will take you to the musical and artistic journey of Maestro Wilmer Ferrán. While honoring the tradition of Cuban Rumba, Ferrán also pushes boundaries by exploring new sound palettes and taking a fresh approach to presenting the Rumbatá project on stage.

Rumbatá is a project that has four musical productions, Rumbatá (Egrem, 2008), La rumba del siglo (Bis Music, 2011), Gracias a la rumba (Bis Music, 2017) y Mi rumba no va a parar (Bis Music, 2022) and has received laurels such as the Afro-Cuban Tradition Award and Cubadisco 2018. The group is the subject of a documentary directed by Isabel Santos and produced by the Cuban Institute of Cinematographic Art and Industry called Rumbatá, which details the importance of this project for the Afro-Caribbean musical universe and for the Africanist identity of the American continent. The documentary offers a delicious journey through Camagüey and its artistic quarries, and can be streamed on YouTube.
