"In the world of digging or being a digger, those terms are usually associated with looking for the old especially from a previous era that originally inspired the golden era of record digging and sampling producers of the 1990's. Those same records, most times recorded in the late 1960 and 1970's have become the foundation for every great record collector’s collection and music lover alike. But as every collectors knows digging doesn't stop with what you know, it's also about what you don't know both old and new which is the case with the latter and the presentation of my latest cassette release, "Digging for A Future Generation". 

Records recorded during the 1960's and 1970's will always be collector’s pieces that take up expensive real estate in everyone’s collection but as a lover of music, I also believe in digging for the now which will eventually be the future digs of tomorrow.  Music that fits in the same realm and genres recorded by some of the best artists, musicians and composers of yesterday. Record collectors are an interesting, unique and often times snobby bunch (myself included) that are stuck in a certain way of thinking which is the gift and not so much the gift but it makes us who we are. There are so many records dropping in the present day that many overlook but shouldn't be slept on just because they're new releases. These records today will become the future digs of tomorrow for not only our generation but future generations who get hooked on becoming record collectors.

"Digging for A Future Generation" explores many of these new releases mainly from independent record labels and artists across the globe that specialize in funk, jazz, psych, world and library-esque sounds that are prime for sampling, playing out or just enjoying at home on the sound system. As with what we would've been looking for during the 90's, these new records are chocked full of samples, drums and other elements that make our ears stand up and pique with interest. And just like records from yesterday, many of these new releases over the last 20 years have gone up in value due to collectiblity and short run pressings. If you snooze today, then you'll surely be paying a premium in the future.

Dig today, dig tomorrow, dig always.
