Hot Pot 006 Marc Meistro's Edits (New 12")
$ 14.99

Label: Hot Pot Records

Marc Meistro, the main producer and one half of Washington, DC’s Sol Power All-Stars joins the Hot Pot Detroit fam with a 4-tracker of scorching edits that will serve discerning DJs across the globe. The release kicks off with a cheeky dancehall/disco/funk flip of a lesser known version of the Brazilian classic “Mas Que Nada”, with a huge hip-shaking bassline. “El Platanal de Bartolo” is next, bumping up a Salsa Charanga cover of a Cuban standard that connects the dots between NYC, Puerto Rico, Colombia, and Senegal. On the other side, “I Wanna Go Downtown” flips an obscure NYC-via-the Caribbean disco track with huge breaks, proto house chords, and devastating slap bass. “Make Your Mind Up” closes things out with a slice of midtempo balearic rare groove bliss, with synth stabs that will take you away. Extremely limited edition and vinyl only, don’t sleep!
