Flight Risk (New 12")

Label: Rocksteady Disco

Eddie Logix returns to Rocksteady Disco with a 4 track EP drawing from leftfield, deep house, disco, Afrobeat, and Balearic influences. Eddie’s last release Placebo Palace sold out immediately, and Flight Risk picks up right where it left off.

“Sky Dive” opens the release with a deep Detroit house dance floor sound, full of driving hand drums underneath RSD mainstay Topher Horn on lead keys along with Eddie's longtime Mega Powers collaborator Pig Pen on backing synth effects. Next up is “Home Suite”, an ideal soundtrack for sunsets and beyond. Flute and saxophone over Dan Paterson’s live jazz drumming makes for a perfect A side closer. “Missing Pixels” kicks off the flip side with frenetic peak hour drums and Yoruba chant, designed for the freakiest of dance floors. Last but certainly not least, “Mount Juniper” closes the release with live guitar from Tim Barrett and bass from Rocksteady Disco head honcho Peter Croce. It’s deep and pensive for those eyes-closed dance floor moments.

As always, it’s hard to put a Rocksteady Disco release into a genre box, but Flight Risk brings all the drums, live instrumentation, soul, and dance floor groove to make this another buy-on-sight record from Detroit.
